Feeling anxious? Overwhelmed? Use the below techniques to find more peace and calm in your day. But, first! Read the instructions.
1) Information gathering will not create any positive changes. And, if a perspective does shift, it likely won't be true lasting change. Change requires action, and consistent action at that! If you take any one of the below practices seriously, and... key word, "practice" it daily, you will start to notice some change.
2) Now, of course these practices are not solutions. They are however fantastic starting points. After I couldn't find a solution through therapy, I too started with simple practices like the below (but 'wink-wink', these are better) before hiring my first coach. I suggest trying one, seeing how it goes for a day, and then coming back for another.
3) If you notice one practice creates more positive change than another, don't play the accumulation game! Stick to 1-2 practices and do them consistently. This is where the most positive change will come.
4) If you see some positive change from any of the practices, know that this is just a taste of what's possible. If you can find a change in either how "intense" stress/anxiety feels when it arises, or you notice the stress/anxiety lasts less time, then, that's a positive change!
